Modern Technology To Make Our Lives Easier

These days everyone has a form of modern technology in their homes or garage; it has advanced so much that everyone is able to benefit in some way or other. People can communicate on the net within seconds with people over the other side of the world and you can make a phone call anywhere at the touch of a button.

One way that modern technology is helping is to keep people fit even if they do not have the time to take a run outside, and never knowing what the weather will be like from day to day could mean that without fitness equipment they would not be able to keep up the regime they have begun with.

Even when the gyms are closed you are still able to get the workout you need to keep fit in your own home, and rather than the simplistic machines that were not hardwearing you are now able to get many different kinds of equipment so that you can give your body a full work out without even needing to go outside.

The laptop has meant that everyone is able to have all the technology and sometimes even storage space that a desktop computer can give them but they are able to take it all with them. Although they have become commonplace the only problem is that carrying them around can mean they become damaged easily either through weather or them being dropped. This is the reason why so many people now use a laptop bag so that they can still have the convenience of having their computer with them, but they do not have to be concerned about other factors putting them out of pocket.

You will find that the you can transport your laptop with the greatest of ease and there are man different kinds of bags available, so much so that you do not have to stick with the uniform black that you may have seen others wearing. They can be made from many different materials and they have pockets so that you can store other things you need such as your charger, paperwork, discs and memory sticks so you will only need this one bag to keep all your paperwork and other important things together.

The camera has been around for many years, but we no longer have to go to a specialist photographer and wait for weeks to see the end result as we are able to use digital technology to see them straight away so that we can pick the best. One of the best cameras is the Canon slr camera. This allows you to take advantage of the digital technology and be able to see the pictures straight away on a screen on the back of the camera.

This camera has many specifications so that you can make the most of your photography and because it is digital you are able to view your snap shots right away, edit them or delete them if they just don’t look right.

Pocket Camera

A Camera that suits the Pocket

The new Flip Mino HD will surely delight those who had fun using its predecessors. Although there aren’t many significant differences between the new and the older versions, certain features of the new Flip Mino HD give it an edge over the earlier versions.

The pocket camera looks slim, in fact, almost 1.5 inches slimmer than the previous model. Its stunning metal body makes you want to keep looking at it. The soft rounded edges make it comfortable to hold even with one hand. This is a refreshing change from the sharp-edged plastic body of the earlier models.

The new screen is bigger and sharper too, which is 2 inches with a video resolution of 1280×720. However, the best feature of the new Mino HD is its internal memory capacity. It is now a whopping 8GB, exactly double as compared to the previous one. Moreover, you can now watch videos for continuously two hours instead of one hour. After the take-over of Flip by Cisco, certain drastic changes have been made to almost all aspects of the camera. The enhanced features of the camera are a definite sign of the same. The processor speed has been enhanced too.

You can now even share your videos because of the HDMI port, a new feature of this model. Although this port was there in the earlier models, it was covered with an ugly-looking cap. However, in the new model, you can open and close this cover using a small switch. Absolutely smart nah! The sad part is that the new model does not come with a HDMI cable. You need to buy the cable separately.

However, some features have remained untouched. The lens, sensor and the ‘too sensitive’ touch pads that keep getting activated when accidentally touched, are all exactly the same as those of the earlier version. These are the extremely irritating features. The sensor is fine for close up shots in perfect lighting. While in low light it is hazy. The camera does not have optical zoom so one cannot take stills.

It is one of the simplest and easy to use pocket cameras suitable for recording videos. And it does not burn a hole into your pocket. Although the Kodak models are better, the Flip gives them fair competition. However, for the Flip to survive the intense competition from smart phones and ipod nano that are known for their superb performance, the flaws will have to be taken care of soon.

Kindle Vs iPad

Comparing the Kindle Vs iPad

Presenting a feature-for-feature Kindle vs iPad review, which gadget will likely win hands down? No doubt about it, the Apple iPad, with its recent much hyped about launch, is the “in” thing today. True-blue Apple patrons can scarcely wait to get their hands on one as the WiFi versions are likely to ship in late March, and the 3G models are to be delivered starting April. When that time comes, we will no doubt see long lines in front of every Apple store just like what happened with the sale of the iPhone.

But what of the ebook readers like the Amazon Kindle and the Sony Reader?  The ereader has slowly become a common consumer device, with the Kindle getting the lion’s share of the market. Seeing the promise of such a device however, a lot of similar ebook readers have also cropped up, with most of them having practically the same features as that of the Kindle. Now with the introduction of tablet PCs like the iPad which can also ably function as an ebook reader, the gadget need may perhaps shift  to multi-functional devices. So, is the iPad primed to take over the ereader market? Let’s take a look at the significant factors.

First off, the negatives. The iPad will only be associated with Apple’s own ebook store. While getting an iPad is a smart move for those who are still considering buying an ebook reading gadget, if you already own a ton of digital books, you won’t be able to access these in the iPad. Actual ebook costs are still to be confirmed, but there’s word that purchasing iBooks in the Apple ebook store is going to run you around 12.99 dollars and 14.99 dollars. This can be slightly steep if you have to start from scratch. Plus, Amazon’s ebooks are still retailing at 9.99 dollars apiece.

Nonetheless, getting an iPad has its own share of benefits, as it’s a device able to perform many functions. You can use this oversized iPhone clone, sans the “phone”, to stream high-def movies, catch your favorite TV shows, browse the web, and play games on a 9.7 inch IPS touch screen. True to Apple standards, the clarity and color is amazing, and it comes with your choice of 16-GB, 32-GB or 64-GB internal storage. With such storage capability, the Library will hold tons of books, which are ingeniously displayed on a “book shelf” design. With one simple tap, you may pick out your ebook, and read it on the high-resolution, LED back-lit display. Depending on your storage and connection preferences, prices start out at 499 dollars and end at 829 dollars. It does run special apps created specifically for the iPad, and you’ll have access to most of the 140,000 other apps at the App Store.

On the other hand, the Amazon Kindle is a device intended for the user’s most relaxing and easy reading experience in mind. Unlike the LCD screen of the iPad, the Kindle, like the present batch of ebook readers, is equipped with e-ink display, which many say, is still best for reading for longer periods of time. The Kindle’s battery can last up to two weeks without recharging, so it could also make the right traveling companion. The 6-inch model is priced at 259 dollars, while the 9.7-inch Kindle DX costs 489 dollars.

So which gadget gets our thumbs up in this Kindle vs iPad comparison? Certainly for the gadget geek, the iPad will fit perfectly alongside his MacBook Pro, AirPort Express, Magic Mouse and its smaller counterpart in looks, the iPhone. Jobs and his staff have come up with yet another brilliant product for the dedicated Apple user. But for the bookworm just aiming to read in the most conjucive “environment” and have little need for all of the other extra features, the Kindle ebook reader remains to be your best option on the market today.
